UZMAG: testing seasonal e-commerce products in Uzbekistan, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan
About the project
Seasonal products for men and women, promoted through dedicated one-page websites and creatives optimised for cost-efficient results.
We researched the market and tested product combinations in Uzbekistan, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan. Uzbekistan was the primary market, with a broad target age range of 21–65.
Objective
Identify the strongest product combinations to keep customer acquisition costs efficient and conversion rates high in Uzbekistan, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan.
Method
We create a dedicated landing page for each product using a specialised page builder.
This approach converts more than 3% of visitors into enquiries. With low CPMs of $1–3 in these markets, the resulting unit economics are strong.
Process
Product research: Each month, we test up to 30 products in each regional market to identify items with the potential to deliver a strong long-term ROI.
We typically rule out around 70% of products that do not meet performance expectations. We then focus closely on the remaining 30%, which show stronger results, in the following months.
Messaging prospective customers
When an enquiry comes through a landing page, the team contacts the person through messaging apps, usually WhatsApp. This makes it easier to answer questions and increases the chance of a sale.
Results
The average cost per lead is around $1.
Around 30% of visitors become buyers. This indicates that the product combinations were well selected and that customer conversations help close sales.
How the model works
This model combines features of a full online store and a lead-generation landing page. It attracts website visitors and lets the team follow up through messaging apps, increasing the chance of a completed sale.
