Promoting a garage through Meta Ads

Objective: garage marketing in London

Build a stable flow of enquiries from prospective customers through Meta Ads. Supply the sales team with a consistent volume of leads at the target cost and reduce CPL progressively as campaigns are optimised.

Meta Ads

We started Meta advertising in May 2025. The initial objective was to identify the strongest formats and campaign objectives.

We tested:

  • reach campaigns to build local awareness;
  • traffic campaigns sending users to WhatsApp;
  • Facebook lead forms for customer enquiries;
  • a separate recruitment campaign.

The recruitment campaign consistently generated applications at £3–8, helping the garage fill vacancies.

Testing also showed that a broad audience without detailed interest targeting outperformed narrow segments built around cars and vehicle maintenance. This became the foundation of the strategy.

Testing WhatsApp traffic

We launched traffic campaigns for key garage services:

  • clutch replacement;
  • MOT;
  • brake diagnostics and repairs.

The ads generated strong interest:

  • 1,000 visits to WhatsApp;
  • £0.22–0.35 cost per click.

However, this format converted poorly from conversation to booking. In January 2026, we therefore moved the campaigns entirely to Facebook lead forms.

Flagship campaign: Cambelt Services

Cambelt Services

The cambelt replacement campaign launched in September 2025 and produced strong results immediately.

First week:

  • 24 leads;
  • CPL of £1.38.

After optimisation:

  • the targeting radius expanded from 9 km to 26 km;
  • daily budget increased to £12–15.

Result:

  • 736 enquiries in total by August 2026, at an average cost of £2.47.

Scaling to other services

After the successful test, we scaled the approach across related services.

Results:

  • Payment Assist — financing for garage services: 158 enquiries at £3.10.
  • Wheel alignment: 28 leads at £8.50 CPL.
  • Engine oil and filter change: 44 enquiries at £3.60. We stopped this campaign and wheel alignment because enquiry quality was unsatisfactory and neither produced bookings.
  • Automatic gearbox repairs: this campaign was ineffective due to a high enquiry cost and no bookings. It was disabled and not relaunched.

Campaign optimisation

We optimised the account systematically throughout the project:

  • regularly refreshed creatives — 102 static and video ads were tested;
  • tested the offers described above;
  • disabled inefficient campaigns;
  • relaunched fatigued ads;
  • refined geography and audiences.

This substantially reduced lead costs for the garage’s highest-demand services.

Next steps

Continue scaling budgets while CPL remains healthy and keep reducing the cost of customer acquisition.

Add call tracking to the website to attribute calls from campaigns accurately and improve optimisation.

Create dedicated website pages for each service to improve conversion. On Meta, continue developing Cambelt Services as the strongest campaign format.

Meta Ads outcome

During the engagement, we built a working Meta Ads customer-acquisition system for specific garage services.
