Colizeum case study: 1,063 customers at €10.9 for a Madrid cyber arena

A cyber arena from the popular Colizeum franchise in Madrid, Spain.

Project objective

Main objective

The client uses Meta as its main platform for communicating with its audience and also as an additional conversion page.

We had two parallel objectives:
1. Inform customers and followers about new promotions and offers.
2. Attract new customers from a cold audience.

We also helped the client create content for its profile and come up with new engaging promotions. In addition, we audited the club administrators’ conversations to improve conversion.

Developing and testing promotions

Since the club’s marketing relies on regular promotions, we agreed with the client on a set of offers to attract new customers and retain existing ones: “Bring a friend,” “Celebrate your birthday at the club,” “A drink and snack on us,” discounts for “off-peak hours” and other offers.

We tested different ad creative formats for each promotion to identify the options that resonated most.

Enquiry-generation strategies

At the first stage, we chose to receive enquiries through Direct.
The results were below expectations: out of 42 enquiries, only 13 were qualified. We therefore tested an alternative funnel format — a video asking users to leave a comment to receive a promo code.

This approach performed better: it generated 20 comments from people who were actually interested.

WhatsApp and Instagram campaigns

To simplify communication, we launched click-optimised ads that directed users to WhatsApp.

We received 337 visits, but because Google Ads was running to the same number at the same time, we could not determine the exact number of enquiries.

We later decided to direct all traffic to the club’s Instagram page, where its contact details and a link to the website were available.

Creating content and creatives

We developed additional promotions and helped the client create Reels by writing engaging scripts. For the new offers, we prepared AI-generated creatives with bright, unusual visuals that proved highly effective.

Improving enquiry handling

We analysed the club administrators’ conversations in Direct and WhatsApp and provided recommendations to improve the conversion of incoming traffic into actual bookings.

Working with national audiences

To increase reach, we tested separate audiences by nationality: Chinese audiences and audiences from the CIS. We developed unique offers for each in their native language, taking cultural differences into account, which increased engagement.

Adapting the strategy for the holiday season

During the summer, the advertising budget was reduced. To compensate, we focused on promoting Reels and generating organic traffic through promotional content. This helped maintain profit at a satisfactory level during the low season.

Conclusion

Our work with Colizeum goes far beyond standard case studies. The agency has also been involved in generating new ideas for the club’s marketing and brand image.

We have done extensive social media management work, creating content and developing communication scripts to improve conversion. This sector benefits from a creative approach to developing advertising concepts.

Next steps

For the next season, when people return from holiday and a new academic year begins, we will develop new promotions and events to attract and, above all, retain customers.

One priority is to hold regular tournaments across different esports disciplines. We will also work on positioning the club as a place where players can train as a team and where new esports stars can grow.
